About Me
As you can see, my happy place is the beach--any beach :)
I began my career in the mother-baby space in 1979 at my first La Leche League meeting as a newborn bebe.
Growing up, I listened and watched as my mother, a proud LLL Leader, gave mother to mother support over the phone and in person to countless moms who sought support in meeting their breastfeeding goals.
My mother eventually became an IBCLC and DONA certified Doula, helping mothers in the birthing and breastfeeding space in a professional capacity. Despite saying, like most girlies, that I would NEVER be like my mom, here I am.

I became a Registered Nurse in 2007 and worked for 12 years on the postpartum unit at New York Presbyterian-Cornell. I helped countless moms navigate their postpartum experience, teaching them how to breastfeed and/or bottle feed their babies, how to take care of their postpartum bodies, and how to care for their sweet new additions. Oh yeah, there were dads, partners, and families there to learn, too :)
I became an IBCLC in 2010, which allowed me to give increased lactation support to nursing mothers. When I had my own children I also became a LLL Leader with my local group.
Life had come full circle! The girl who said she would never be like her mama had ended up just like her. And like most daughters who once said NEVER, I am incredibly proud that my lovely mama was the inspiration for my professional career and that I did indeed end up almost just like her.

Professionally, I am also an AANP Certified Family Nurse Practitioner and my day job is Nursing Education at a large New York City hospital system.

I have four lovely children who were welcomed to this earth in my home, with caring midwives assisting my births. I love the beach, I practice yoga asana daily, enjoy reading mysteries, and making art with found objects.
